New Princess In Monaco – Charlene Wittstock Engaged To Prince Albert
Today, the official news agency of the royal house of Monaco announced that ruler Prince Albert II is engaged to Charlene Wittstock. Both members of the couple are athletes that have competed within the Olympics. The wedding date has not yet been set, though this famously wealthy country is certain to be preparing a huge celebration.

From 2005, Prince Albert of Monaco has ruled the small city-state. An Olympic bobsledder for several years, Prince Albert met Charlene Wittstock when she was competing as a swimmer for South Africa. Since 2006, the schoolteacher and Olympian has lived in Monaco. The wedding date hasn’t been announced yet, but it is probably six months away or more.

The last time Monaco saw a royal wedding was in 1956. The official heirs of Monaco could be the children that come out of this marriage. Prince Albert has admitted paternity of two kids, though both are illegitimate. A law passed by the ruling body of Monaco cemented that illegitimate children aren’t eligible to become royalty in Monaco.

The country is bordered on 3 sides by France, which is financially and socially responsible for the defense of the country. A large casino combined with the fact individuals pay no income tax make Monaco a very popular place for wealthy individuals. The country’s GDP weighs in at $ 6.5 billion each year. In short, that means that the royal wedding of Prince Albert and Charlene Wittstock is sure to be an expensive, elaborate affair.
